Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd. in Calgary is seeking a Sr. Geotechnical Engineer to lead geotechnical design and project delivery for infrastructure, mining, and oil sands projects.

You will work on terrain analysis, site investigations, instrumentation, and design for facilities, ensuring safety and excellence. You will manage client relationships, contribute to business development, and lead multidisciplinary teams on design and construction, with travel to project sites in Alberta and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required.
• Registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer in Canada.
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience in municipal, water resources, mining, or transportation sectors.

Responsibilities

• Manage and work on projects involving terrain analysis, site investigations, instrumentation installation and monitoring, geohazard risk assessment and control, geo-structure and foundation design for facilities, retaining structures and bridges, construction management, and review and remediation of water retention facilities.
• Build and develop client relationships.
• Develop project management skills by leading design and construction projects.
• Undertake business development and proposal preparation for Infrastructure Team growth.
• Problem solve and find innovative solutions to technical issues.
• Work with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Travel to project locations, typically in Alberta and other provinces or international locations.

Job description

As a Sr. Geotechnical Engineer, you will have an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale, world-class projects covering geotechnical aspects of design, construction and operations applied in our three markets of infrastructure, mining, and oil sands. You will be working on water resources projects including storm ponds and water dams, tailings containment dams, roads, railways, and heavy civil infrastructure. This role will provide you with excellent technical challenges and an opportunity to grow your career as well as contribute to the growth of our Infrastructure team in Calgary.

• Are registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer in Canada.

• Have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.

• Have a minimum of 10 years of related experience in municipal, water resources, mining, or transportation market sectors.
