About the Role

We are seeking a highly experiencedSenior Freight Specialist to oversee and optimize our global and domestic transportation operations. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end freight activities while ensuring cost efficiency, compliance, and timely delivery across all shipping modes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate and manage freight contracts with domestic and international carriers to secure competitive rates and reliable service.
  • Book and coordinate shipments across ocean, air, and ground transportation, tracking container movement from origin to destination.
  • Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs paperwork in compliance with CBSA (Canada) and CBP (U.S.) regulations.
  • Lead the planning and execution of inbound and outbound shipments to meet service level and delivery targets.
  • Review and reconcile freight invoices, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accurate billing with carriers.
  • Build and maintain a freight matrix capturing carrier profiles, service offerings, and rate structures to support data-driven logistics decisions.
  • Monitor global freight market trends to recommend cost-effective and efficient transportation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and suppliers to support smooth logistics operations.
  • Coordinate with 3PL warehouse partners to align inventory flow, receiving, and order fulfillment.
  • Track shipments proactively, maintaining regular communication with stakeholders to prevent or resolve delays.
  • Expedite critical shipments when necessary to avoid supply chain disruptions and meet urgent demand.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • 5–7+ years of experience in freight management, international logistics, or supply chain operations.
  • Proven expertise in freight negotiation and carrier relationship management.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, documentation, and CBSA declaration procedures.
  • Experience with 3PL warehouse coordination and inventory management.
  • Skilled with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel (SAP preferred).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
