Job summary

Lenovo is seeking a Senior UEFI Engineer to join the Infrastructure Solutions Group in Morrisville, NC. You will collaborate with a team of engineers to deliver optimized firmware for server, IoT, and enterprise hardware.

The role requires 8+ years in embedded firmware, strong C skills, UEFI/BIOS experience, and a solid understanding of Windows and Linux. You will work with OpenEDK, JIRA, Confluence, and Git in a collaborative development environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 8+ years minimum experience in Embedded Firmware/Software Development.
• Experience with UEFI or BIOS.
• Strong experience with the C programming language.
• Experience with firmware programming and debugging.
• Experience with x86 and ARM processors.
• Familiar with x86 and ARM Assembler.
• Experience with hardware bring up and boot sequence.
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Proficient with Git source version control: workflows, forking, code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Write, debug and test embedded firmware with software engineers.
• Manage firmware build tools, builds, and release firmware for testing.
• Recreate and fix problems reported by the test team and provide support.

About Our Team

We’re looking for Senior UEFI Engineer to join our Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) at Lenovo. As a member of the strategic UEFI development team you will be working with a group of industry leading team members to create optimized customer solutions to bring to market. With Lenovo’s broad product line, including Cloud Based Servers, IoT Servers, and Enterprise Servers, you will be challenged to do the research and Development required to have a premium UEFI offering for each of these critical and growing market segments.

What You’ll Do

Candidates will work with software engineers to write, debug and test embedded Firmware. Manage and maintain firmware build tools, manage builds, and release Firmware to test as well as recreate and fix problems reported by the test team. Duties may include code development, unit testing, debugging, and customer support for technical issues.

Basic Qualifications:

• BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering
• 8+ years minimum experience in Embedded Firmware/Software Development
• Experience with UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) or BIOS
• Strong experience with the C programming language
• Experience with firmware programming and debugging
• Experience with x86 and ARM processors
• Familiar with x86 and ARM Assembler
• Experience with hardware bring up and boot sequence
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Proficient with Git source version control system: comfortable with common Git workflows, forking, and code reviews

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with OpenEDK
• Experience using JIRA and Confluence

PAY TRANSPARENCY

The anticipated annual compensation range for this position is 176,300–270,365 USD. Final compensation will be based on relevant experience, skills, and business considerations.
