A leading digital health organization in Toronto is seeking a Senior Director of Product Design to lead design strategy for innovations in patient care. You will guide a high-performing design team to create impactful digital health products while ensuring patient-centered solutions and integrating health insights. The ideal candidate has over 10 years of experience in product design and a strong background in health UX. This full-time role offers opportunities for growth in a collaborative environment.
At Loblaw Digital, we know that our customers expect the best from us. Whether that means building the best, most innovative online shopping experience, or designing an app that will impact the lives of people across the country, we’re up for the challenge. From our office in Downtown Toronto, we’ve created leading eCommerce experiences in the online grocery shopping, beauty, pharmacy, and apparel spaces, and we’re only just getting started.
About Shoppers Drug Mart & PC Health
Shoppers Drug Mart is Canada’s leading pharmacy and health services retailer. Our Digital Health team is building PC Health, a health utility that helps Canadians manage chronic conditions like diabetes and obesity, tying together in-pharmacy care with digital tools. We believe the future of health is omnichannel: when a patient receives care in our pharmacies, their experience continues seamlessly at home through our apps, connected devices, and personalized health insights.
As the Sr. Director of Product Design for Digital Health, you will set the vision and lead the design strategy for products and services that empower Canadians to live healthier lives. You’ll guide a high-performing design team to create patient-centered digital experiences that integrate with our pharmacy network, clinical services, and partners in the healthcare ecosystem. Your mission is to deliver elegant, evidence-based solutions that improve health outcomes, while shaping the future of omnichannel healthcare in Canada.
Partner with Product, Engineering, Clinical, and Business stakeholders to ensure world-class design influences the evolution of our Digital Health roadmap.
Lead and grow a team of Product Designers, supported by UX Research, to deliver seamless, patient-focused digital and in-person experiences.
Coach and develop design talent (~10 designers), fostering mastery, purpose, and autonomy while advancing their careers.
Guide the full design spectrum: problem definition, research, service design, information architecture, user flows, prototyping, high-fidelity design, and collaboration with development.
Champion patient-centered design by integrating behavioral insights, health data, and research to improve engagement and outcomes. Build trusted relationships across Shoppers Drug Mart, Digital Health, Loblaw Digital, and external partners, translating complex healthcare needs into simple, intuitive, and impactful design solutions.
Ensure accessibility, inclusivity, and equity are at the core of every design decision, enabling all Canadians to benefit from our health tools.
The Team Champion: You earn trust through empathy, curiosity, and collaboration, while elevating design’s profile across healthcare and digital communities.
The Candid Collaborator: You provide clear, constructive feedback, navigate tough conversations with optimism, and create a culture of candor and courage.
The Critical Thinker: You ask the right questions, connect insights to design opportunities, and apply a thoughtful process to disrupt, innovate, and simplify healthcare experiences.
The Conductor: You balance priorities, advocate for conditions that drive success, and keep your team focused on outcomes that matter most to patients.
The Coach & Connector: You cultivate an inclusive, safe, and growth-oriented environment for your team, spotlight emerging talent, and connect people with the right opportunities to succeed.
