Job summary

Swoon is sourcing a Senior Content Editor, Digital Marketing for a major Canadian bank on a 6-month maternity cover contract in Toronto. The role sits in a 15‑person team working in Agile marketing squads with designers, developers, translators and analysts.

You will edit and write web pages, emails and digital ads, ensuring editorial standards, voice consistency, accessibility and SEO. You’ll present work to stakeholders and drive revisions across multiple campaigns.

Senior Content Editor, Digital Marketing (Contract)

My client, one of Canada's Big 5 banks, is looking for a senior content editor to join its digital marketing team on a 6-month contract starting November 30. The role covers a maternity leave, with a 6-month extension planned and the possibility of more beyond that.

You'll be joining a team of 15 writers and editors who work in Agile marketing squads alongside designers, developers, translators and analysts. Together they create the campaigns that help clients find the right banking products, including web pages, emails, digital ads and more. It's an experienced, supportive group with a deep library of reference material, so you'll have what you need to get up to speed quickly.

What you'll do

• Edit and write content for web pages, emails, online ads and other digital campaign materials
• Make sure every piece meets the bank's editorial standards, voice and tone, and accessibility and SEO best practices
• Work closely with visual designers and the rest of your squad from brief to launch
• Present your work to stakeholders, explain the thinking behind content decisions, and fold feedback into revisions
• Manage several initiatives at once without losing track of the details

What you bring

• 10+ years of writing and editing experience, with substantial work in digital marketing
• Experience working in a corporate environment or large institution
• A sharp eye for detail and a strong command of brand voice and tone
• Confidence communicating with and presenting to colleagues and stakeholders
• The ability to work independently while contributing to a close-inked team

Nice to have

• Experience at a bank or other financial institution, especially with content that goes through legal and compliance review
• Experience working in Agile
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence or Adobe Workfront
• Strong technical knowledge of digital channels and platforms

The details

• Rate: $45-$47.92/hr on T4, or up to $57/hr incorporated
• 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday
• Hybrid: onsite in the Financial District on Wednesdays, remote the rest of the week
