Job summary

Appnovation Technologies is seeking a Senior Associate in Vancouver to lead meaningful portions of client work, owning requirements, backlogs, and backlog-ready artifacts. You will translate stakeholder needs into actionable user stories and maps while applying product and strategy frameworks to ensure alignment with client goals.

You will contribute to strategy engagements across product strategy, customer experience, and service design, and help surface risks and dependencies early.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience across product management, business analysis, strategy consulting, customer experience, or service design.

Responsibilities

• Own detailed ticket writing and backlog translation for defined workstreams.
• Translate stakeholder needs and strategic direction into requirements, user stories, and backlog-ready artifacts.
• Apply product and strategy frameworks to client engagements.
• Contribute to strategy engagements across product strategy, customer experience, and service design.
• Contribute analysis and structured thinking to develop strategic recommendations.
• Identify risks, gaps, and dependencies and surface them proactively.
• Support continuity from strategy to design, development, and QA.
• Facilitate small working sessions and stakeholder clarifications.
• Use AI and visual tools to accelerate work and expand creative range.
• Coach junior team members to raise the quality of work.

THE ROLE

As a Senior Associate, you are an independent practitioner who leads meaningful portions of the work. You own requirements, backlogs, process maps, journeys, and prioritisation — the product-facing artifacts that keep delivery on track. You also connect that work to the strategic context it lives within, helping ensure what the team is building stays true to what the client actually needs. This is a role for someone who takes ownership, pushes quality higher every time, and uses every engagement as an opportunity to grow as both a product and strategic thinker.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own detailed ticket writing and backlog translation for defined workstreams — you produce requirements and stories that teams can act on
• Translate stakeholder needs and strategic direction into requirements, user stories, process maps, and backlog-ready artifacts
• Apply and adapt product and strategy frameworks — customer journeys, service blueprints, prioritisation models, ecosystem maps — to the specific context of your engagement
• Contribute to strategy engagements across product strategy, customer experience, service design, transformation planning, and research-led initiatives
• Contribute analysis, synthesis, and structured thinking to the development of strategic recommendations
• Identify risks, gaps, and dependencies within your workstreams and surface them proactively
• Support continuity from strategic direction through to design, development, and QA
• Facilitate smaller working sessions and stakeholder clarifications with growing confidence
• Contribute to proposal or pitch support where relevant
• Use AI and visual tools both to accelerate your work and to expand your creative range — exploring how AI can help you ideate, prototype, and challenge your own thinking
• Push the quality of your own work higher with every engagement, and actively coach junior team members on how to do the same

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• 3–5 years of experience in product management, business analysis, strategy consulting, customer experience, service design, or a closely related field
• Strong ownership of product documentation — requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows that teams can act on without heavy rework
• Experience applying frameworks to real product or client problems — you adapt rather than copy
• A developing ability to connect product work to strategic context and vice versa
• Growing confidence in client-facing communication and facilitation
• Curiosity that leads you to dig deeper and ask better questions
• A clear drive to keep learning and to raise the quality of your work consistently
• Practical fluency with digital tools and AI-assisted ways of working
• A track record of delivering consistently and raising quality around you
