We are seeking a Senior Advisor, Strategic Applications to lead and manage complex regulatory projects that shape the future of our organization. In this role, you will serve as the project manager for strategic regulatory applications‑most notably, rate rebasing applications to the Ontario Energy Board. These applications are highly intricate, requiring exceptional coordination and planning. What You Will Do:
Develop and Plan:
  • Create, maintain, and execute comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and resource allocation, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
  • Lead project leadership team meetings and facilitate Steering Committee meetings, driving effective collaboration and decision‑making across all phases of the project.
  • Manage project interdependencies, risks, and critical path activities, proactively identifying obstacles and working to implement mitigation strategies.
  • Lead an effective transition from the development phase to the execution phase. Ensure that the knowledge of decisions, assumptions and execution plans made during the development phase are accurately understood and applied in the execution phase.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
  • Support all project communications, ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information to internal stakeholders, including senior management.
Change Management & Continuous Improvement:
  • Lead change management initiatives, facilitating the transition from development to execution phases and ensuring lessons learned are captured and applied.
  • Advise business decision makers on scope changes, especially those that deviate from the approved project proposal, and ensure appropriate participation in change discussions.
  • Provide consulting support, advice, and direction to functional groups.
Risk Management:
  • Identify, assess, and report project risks, root causes, and develop robust mitigation plans in collaboration with the project team.
Knowledge Management:
  • Own and maintain the project SharePoint site, ensuring all documentation, decisions, and execution plans are accurately captured and accessible.
Regulatory Support & Compliance:
  • Support regulatory proceedings by tracking and following up on interrogatory responses when required, preparing daily and issue summaries, and managing transcript documentation as required.
Who You Are:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree. Other post-secondary education may be considered.
  • Minimum six or more years of progressive project management experience, depending on technical education, accreditations and competency development.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong problem solving, decision-making, organization, planning and leadership skills.
  • Highly collaborative, with a strong focus on teamwork and delivering exceptional service.
  • Motivated self-starter who works well independently in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to predict obstacles, challenges and risks to proactively determine mitigation strategies and innovative solutions to problems.
  • Software experience with MS Office Suite and Visio.
Preferred:
  • Professional designation and/or extensive experience and knowledge of PMI best practices in project management.
  • Excellent leadership, project management, conflict resolution, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of multi-tasking numerous projects at once and working under tight deadlines.
