Job summary

TAO Solutions Inc. is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Software Developer for data-driven software and SQL server reporting. You will develop stored procedures, optimize queries, and lead DB administration under senior guidance.

The role emphasizes collaboration with QA, mentoring juniors, and delivering reliable enterprise applications using modern technologies. A hybrid work model and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • Strong academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years experience in data-driven software development and/or server reporting development.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with MS-SQL Server, T-SQL, and stored procedures.

  • Apply your advanced SQL Server and Visual Studio skills to develop and maintain stored procedures and reports.
  • Lead query optimization and database performance improvements.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Apply your advanced SQL Server and Visual Studio skills to develop and maintain stored procedures and reports.
  • Lead query optimization and database performance improvements.
  • Lead database administration tasks such as setup, configuration, and migrations under guidance from senior team members.
  • Translate functional specifications into solid technical designs
  • Write clean, reliable, well-architected and maintainable code
  • Work closely with QA to ensure successful integration testing.
  • Mentor and support junior team members in growing their technical skills.
  • Provide support to internal staff and clients with oversight as needed.
  • Develop enterprise applications using modern, industry-leading technologies
  • Other duties as assigned.
Does this sound like you?
  • Strong academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 3-5+ years experience in data-driven software development and/or server reporting development as applicable
  • Eager to learn and grow within the SQL stack, mentor and collaborate with other team members on the Database team
  • Advanced hands-on experience with MS-SQL Server, T-SQL, and stored procedures
  • Ability to speak to and use modern AI-driven tools and methodologies is a strong asset and will be prioritized
  • Proven experience with Power BI
  • Depth of knowledge within SQL Server Reporting Services, BOLD Reports, or other reporting tools is required
  • Knowledge of software development principles and the software development life cycle
  • Eagerness to learn, experiment, and improve is a must
  • Experience with Visual Studio, Git, or other version control tools from school projects or internships
  • Interest in Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum) is an asset
  • Eagerness to learn, contribute, and grow in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and pride in delivering quality work
  • Prior experience in financial services or fintech environments is a strong asset
Base Compensation: $80,000 - $105,000

This is an Intermediate to Senior role that we are looking to fill, we are open to both levels of candidates. The Compensation is banded accordingly to encompass both of these levels. Placement within the range is determined through the interview process and is based on a candidate's knowledge skills and qualifications for the role. Additional opportunities for compensation include, but are not limited to: paid vacation, volunteer days, employer paid benefits, profit sharing and bonus program participation (where applicable).
