Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Data Analyst & Spreadsheet Specialist for remote engagement (10–20 hours/week). You will perform real data analysis and build training data for AI models using Mac-based tools (Excel, Numbers, Google Sheets) and provide explanations of your reasoning. Immediate start preferred.

You should own a MacBook, have 2–3 years in a quantitative field, and be comfortable with SQL/Python/R and BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience or current enrollment in a postgraduate program in a quantitative field.
• Ownership of a MacBook or Mac with an Apple M-series chip or Intel processor, running macOS 15 or higher.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Numbers, and/or Google Sheets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete and narrate data analysis and spreadsheet tasks on your Mac to create high-quality training data for advanced AI models.
• Utilize Excel, Numbers, and/or Google Sheets for pivot tables, lookups, charts, data cleaning, and financial/operational models.
• Work independently to benchmark and improve cutting-edge AI models.
• Provide clear explanations of your reasoning while helping to enhance model outputs.
• Maintain a structured approach to responsibilities without high-pressure internships or full-time consulting roles.

Position: Data Analysts & Spreadsheet Specialists (Must own MacBook)
Type: Contract
Compensation: $50–$60/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–20 hours/week
