Job summary

Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Partnership (MLSE) is seeking an Accounting Intern to gain hands-on experience developing technical accounting skills within a leading sports and entertainment company. You’ll assist and coordinate core functions across ticketing, global partnerships, and live events while liaising with finance teams.

Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the role emphasizes analytical work, journalizing routine entries, reconciliations, and supporting special projects.

Qualifications

• You are working towards an undergraduate degree and the prerequisites for entry into the CPA Professional Education Program.
• You have strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze and interpret data.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) – candidates with demonstrated skill at Excel (performing VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, and other data cleaning abilities) are considered an asset.
• You demonstrate initiative and can work independently and as part of a team.
• You have strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• You can establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments.
• You possess outstanding organizational skills with the ability to independently manage your time and organize multiple work activities and inputs.
• You love learning and constantly applying new skills to unfamiliar tasks.
• Available for regular weekday shifts during normal business hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist in journalizing daily cash depository receipts (CDRs).
• Assist in analyzing contracts in Salesforce month-over-month.
• Assist in journalizing credit card chargebacks.
• Assist in journalizing live event suite settlements.
• Reconciling balance sheet accounts.
• Assist in journalizing Ticketmaster advances.
• Participate in special projects as needed.
