CBC/Radio-Canada Ottawa-Gatineau is seeking a Sporting Life Videojournalist (French Services). This permanent full-time position requires on-site work and a strong command of French.

Radio-Canada Ottawa-Gatineau is looking for a sporting life videojournalist. This is a permanent, full-time role working three (3) days on a weekday schedule and two (2) days on a weekend schedule. Your Role Reporting to the Senior Digital Producer, Sports, you’ll gather and process news from the local and national sports scene. You’ll be expected to create content for all Radio-Canada platforms. You’ll be responsible for writing copy and producing video for digital platforms as well as contributing to Le Téléjournal Ottawa-Gatineau, live or pre-recorded radio newscasts and programs. You may also be required to work on national programs. The greater Ottawa-Gatineau area is home to a large number of Canada’s national and multi-sport organizations and professional, college and university sports teams. It offers an extensive range of possibilities for stories about the region’s sporting life, leisure and outdoor activities. This is a unique opportunity to create content that is informative and interesting for our audiences and relevant to their lives. You must be able to work independently, have excellent organizational skills, be highly creative and possess sound editorial judgment. You’ll prepare, align, set up and operate various cameras and ancillary equipment, ensuring optimal audio and video quality under prevailing conditions. Work is governed by CBC/Radio-Canada programming policies and Journalistic Standards and Practices. When needed, you may be asked to lend a hand in the newsroom as a general news videojournalist. This role requires full-time on-site presence.
