Serving diverse communities across the Okanagan and West Kootenay regions, our CYMH teams provide comprehensive mental health services that are tailored to local needs. We work collaboratively with Indigenous communities, schools, and health authorities to deliver culturally informed, client‑centered care. The Role

As a Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Clinician, you’ll support the mental wellness of children, youth, and families through direct clinical services such as intake, assessment, treatment, suicide risk assessment, safety planning, and crisis intervention for ages 0–18. Working flexibly across homes, schools, communities, and offices, you’ll collaborate with professionals including educators, healthcare providers, Indigenous service organizations, and community agencies to deliver holistic care. Qualifications and Experience

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Educational Counseling, Clinical Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Child and Youth Care, or a comparable graduate degree at the Master’s level. If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES).
• Minimum of 1 year full‑time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community‑based mental health services.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

• Applicants who self‑identify as having an Indigenous heritage (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.
• Applicants with 2+ years of experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community‑based mental health services.

Willingness Statements and Provisos

• You must possess and maintain a valid B.C. Class 5 driver’s license. If you currently have a valid driver’s license in Canada, you must acquire a Canadian Class 5 license immediately.
• May be required to work evenings and weekends.
• May be required to travel to remote locations.
• May be required to use your own vehicle on an expense account basis.
• Must work with families and children and youth who are distressed and facing challenges that may occasionally involve exposure to unpleasant situations or behaviors with angry, abusive, or abused clients; exposure to hazards from frequently working around parents and/or children in crisis who may display volatile behavior.

About this Position

There is one (1) full‑time permanent opportunity available in Grand Forks. Temporary offers made from the eligibility list may become permanent. The eligibility list may be used to fill other locations within the Okanagan West Kootenay Service Delivery Area. Applicants who do not fully meet the required qualifications may be considered for this position but at a lower classification.

A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required. Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
