A provincial government in Canada seeks an Out of Care Worker to join a new Resources Team in Dawson Creek. The successful candidate will work closely with caregivers to create safe, stable homes for children and youth in care. Responsibilities include shaping team processes, providing support, and fostering relationships with the community. A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field is required, along with a valid BC Driver's License.
You’ll join the newly formed Resources Team, consisting of a Team Leader, six Resource Workers, and a SPO A. As a new team, there is an opportunity to shape how you work together, support one another, and build a strong, inclusive team culture. You’ll collaborate with other Ministry service delivery teams in the building and with community partners to provide permanency options for children and youth in care.
You’ll work in an Out of Care Worker / Resource Worker role, supporting caregivers to assess placements that help create safe, stable homes for children and youth. Your work contributes to providing a sense of permanency and belonging for young people in care. As part of a new team, you’ll shape how the work is done, take ownership of your contributions, and build strong relationships with local Bands and communities.

Human Services fields include: Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Anthropology, Early Childhood Education, Indigenous Studies, Education, Theology, or Nursing.

There are two full-time permanent positions available, one in Fort St. John and one in Dawson Creek. Flexible work options may allow up to 2 days at home per week with an approved telework agreement. An eligibility list may be established. A Criminal Record Check and CRRA will be required. BC Public Service employees must be located in BC at the time of employment.
