Job summary

A global satellite operator in Ottawa is seeking a motivated engineering student for improving automation capabilities of regulatory tools. The ideal candidate will have completed at least the 3rd year in Engineering, preferably in Electrical or Telecommunications. Strong programming skills in languages such as Matlab and Python are highly valued. This position offers a chance to engage in innovative projects and develop crucial technical skills.

Qualifications

Main Responsibilities
  • Improve automation capabilities of the in-house regulatory tool and its modules
  • Interpret technical documents that define methodologies for interference analysis and write code to implement them
  • Perform interference analyses using the developed code and validate its results against third-party software
  • Design and carry out test cases for software verification
  • Maintain and develop internal documentation related to the activities above
  • Create code to connect to the to BR IFIC Beta using APIs in order to automate data collection from new IFIC’s
Education & Experience Required
  • Completed minimum 3rd year in a Bachelor of Engineering program in Canada
  • Electrical Engineering, Space Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering strongly preferred
  • Radio frequency (RF) and satellite communication theory an asset
  • Matlab programming skills
  • Skilled in other programming languages (e.g. Python) or tools (i.e. STK) an asset
  • Experience using software version control system (e.g. Git) an asset
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal
  • Strong technical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
