Job Description

This position represents a regular full time training opportunity (theory and practicum) to prepare staff to work in the specified Island Health specialty department. Upon completion of the training, the staff member will be placed into a regular rotation line in the specialty department that they have been trained for.

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of Island Health (Vancouver Island Health Authority), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reports to the Nurse Manager, Department Head, or designate. Port Hardy Hospital will be the home site. Education and on site training will be at Port McNeill Hospital.
