Overview

Primary Job Title: Specialty Developer V (SailPoint Developer). Alternate / Related Job Titles: Senior SailPoint Developer, IAM SailPoint Engineer, Identity & Access Management Developer, SailPoint IAM Specialist, Senior IAM Engineer.

Location & Onsite Flexibility: Toronto, ON – Hybrid. Onsite 4 days per week, 1 day remote. Work locations include: Wellington Street West, Toronto; Mississauga, Markham, or Scarborough locations.

Contract Details: Position Type: Contract; Contract Duration: 6 Months; Start: As Soon As Possible; Pay Rate: C$90.00 – C$100.00/hour; Schedule: Monday–Friday, core business hours (37.5 hours/week); Overtime: Possible.

Job Summary

The Specialty Developer V (SailPoint Developer) will design, engineer, deploy, and support Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions as part of the enterprise SailPoint platform. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, governance and risk teams, HR, vendors, and enterprise technology groups to deliver secure, scalable IAM solutions across the organization. This is a senior-level role requiring deep SailPoint expertise, strong programming skills, and experience working in large enterprise or financial services environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, engineer, deploy, and support the SailPoint platform within the Provisioning & Identity Management suite
  • Lead system integrations and onboarding of applications onto SailPoint
  • Partner with Governance, Risk, HR, and Enterprise Technology teams to define IAM strategies and roadmaps
  • Translate business, application, and security requirements into enterprise-level technical designs
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SailPoint and provide technical consultation to application owners
  • Ensure successful execution of IAM engineering projects in collaboration with operations, security, architecture, and project managers
  • Act as third-level escalation support for IAM services, including deep investigation and troubleshooting
  • Work with vendors to resolve application, software, and hardware issues
  • Create and maintain system and support documentation
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to support and operations teams
  • Oversee and review work performed by external consultants
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for automation and process improvement
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 10+ years of hands-on SailPoint experience (coding, configuration, administration, and support)
  • Strong programming skills in Java, BeanShell, Unix Shell, PowerShell, SQL, PL/SQL
  • Experience working in DevOps environments
  • Strong knowledge of database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server)
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent coordination and interpersonal skills
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Experience integrating SailPoint with HR systems (Workday, PeopleSoft)
  • Experience integrating with Active Directory, LDAP, Unix, databases, and enterprise applications
  • Knowledge of IAM standards and protocols (RBAC, LDAP)
  • Automation and advanced scripting experience
  • Financial services, banking, or insurance industry experience
  • Relevant certifications (CISSP, SailPoint, Java)
Team & Work Environment
  • Team size: 30+ members in a collaborative environment
  • Agile delivery model with sprint-based performance measurement
  • Daily 30-minute scrum calls plus project-specific meetings
  • Minimal external interaction; primarily internal stakeholders
