Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY CANADA INC. in Quebec City seeks an experienced EHS leader to develop and drive environmental programs, ensuring compliance and sustainable operations within a manufacturing context.

You will work with plant management to support environmental systems, guide GHG, waste, energy, and materials compliance, and contribute to a safer, more efficient workplace. Strong communication and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in engineering/chemistry/environmental health or related field with 2+ years HSE experience, or DEC in EHS with 5+ years experience.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations.
• Proven ability to coordinate and influence teams and build relationships.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Experience in a syndicated manufacturing environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Manage plant management regarding environmental programs and practices.
• Develop and improve programs to comply with local, provincial and federal environmental regulations.
• Support environmental management systems across the company and business unit.
• Participate in site inspections and audits, oversee findings and coordinate corrective actions.
• Execute environmental incident reporting, investigation and monitoring processes.
• Implement corporate environmental programs including waste, energy, GHG and materials.
• Establish and monitor environmental performance indicators for site improvement.
• Identify sustainable actions to reduce environmental impact.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, procedures and guidelines.
