Airbus Canada Limited Partnership is seeking a Metallurgy and Forge Specialist to join our Materials & Processes Engineering team in Mirabel, Canada. You will support the A220 program by applying advanced metallurgical expertise to forged, extruded, cast, and machined parts and collaborate with engineering, production, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Degree in materials engineering, metallurgy, or mechanical engineering.
• Experience in aerospace with metallic materials for aircraft structures.
• Hands-on qualification of forgings, extrusions, castings, and machining.
• Knowledge of wear and corrosion mechanisms and surface finishing.
• Understanding of aerospace fasteners selection, qualification, and installation requirements.
• Proficiency with CATIA, Enovia, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary technical expertise in resolving Design, Certification, and Compliance issues with Suppliers, Operations, and Quality.
• Perform technical reviews and approve Engineering Drawings, Manufacturing Techniques Sheets, Forgings/Castings Qualification, and Test Reports.
• Work in a Multi-Functional Team on cost reduction opportunities, structural modifications, and ensure designs meet M&P requirements.
• Collaborate with Liaison Engineers to provide timely M&P dispositions for manufacturing and assembly issues.
• Ensure redesign activities meet environmental regulations impacting the A220 program.
• Engage with the M&P specialists team and share knowledge across sites.
