POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Payroll Specialist responsible for full‑cycle Canadian payroll, including Quebec, while also supporting U.S. payroll activities. This critical role ensures compliance, data accuracy, and financial reporting reliability as we expand globally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process full‑cycle payroll for Quebec and U.S. employees, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all statutory remittances (CRA, Revenu Québec, IRS, state agencies).
  • Prepare and reconcile GL entries and collaborate with Finance on month‑end and year‑end reporting.
  • Manage year‑end processes: T4s, T4As, RL‑1s, W‑2s, W‑3s, and reconciliations.
  • Validate benefit premiums and remittances with accurate setup and deductions.
  • Participate in payroll system implementations and process improvements.
  • Work closely with HR, Finance, and vendors to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify automation opportunities and improve payroll workflows.
  • Act as primary point of contact for payroll‑related queries.
  • Commit to ongoing payroll compliance education and industry knowledge.
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and tasks as required to support payroll and business needs.
REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 3 years of full‑cycle Canadian payroll experience, including Quebec (U.S. payroll is an asset).
  • Thorough knowledge of federal/provincial and U.S. payroll legislation.
  • Experience with statutory remittances and year‑end reporting (CRA, Revenu Québec, IRS).
  • Hands‑on experience with ADP Workforce Now.
  • Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines with high accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of payroll accounting, including GL and journal entries.
  • Working knowledge of benefit deductions and payroll integration.
  • Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, lookups).
ADDITIONAL/ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
  • PCP or CPP certification (asset).
  • Experience in multi‑entity or cross‑border payroll environments (asset).
  • Familiarity with HRIS integrations and process automation (asset).
  • Bilingual in English and French required.
