Technical Control Specialist

Job Description

Reporting to the E & I Superintendent, you will complete programming, troubleshooting and commissioning Electrical Control System equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Assistance with Capital Project Work - planning, designing and commissioning logic and equipment as required
  • Responding to day‑to‑day operation's requests for assistance with electrical equipment in a 24/7 operating environment
  • Work with plant operational teams to drive continuous improvement efforts related to process control systems
Qualifications
  • Education required: Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or Trades Certification in Instrumentation or Electrical
  • Experience: Industrial experience in a unionized environment would be considered an asset
  • Experience with OT Control Networks, EtherNet/IP, Modbus, DeviceNet, ControlNet, and OPCDA/OPCUA and SCADA systems
  • Experience with Electrical Controls Systems, Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Rockwell Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and VFDs
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in the engineering and implementing projects
  • Sound problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects
  • Proven leadership ability and able to work well within a team
