Job summary

Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking a Project Management and Planning Specialist in Saskatoon. The role focuses on end-to-end planning and management for Major Capital Projects, ensuring alignment with clinical and operational requirements.

You will collaborate with senior leadership, ministries, and stakeholders to deliver comprehensive planning, budgeting, scheduling and reporting. Major Capital Projects oversees FFE development, Operational Readiness, and construction documentation.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading large-scale projects (> $3M) from planning through closeout.
  • Strong budgeting, scheduling and risk management capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with senior leadership, ministry partners and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of patient-centered facility design and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end planning and project management for Major Capital Projects.
  • Translate user, clinical and operational needs into functional designs and construction documents.
  • Lead liaison between management, clinicians, user groups and project teams.
  • Maintain project records and support documentation for approvals and financial tracking.

Job Description:

Project Management and Planning Specialists support SHA’s Major Capital Projects portfolio by providing end-to-end planning and project management services for projects greater than $3M. The Project Management and Planning Specialists collaborate with senior leadership, Ministry partners, and stakeholders to deliver services including scope and feasibility development, budgeting and estimating, scheduling, risk analysis, design and drawing reviews, infection control planning, commissioning, reporting, approvals, and financial tracking.

Major Capital Projects is also responsible for the development, purchase, delivery, and installation of Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FFE), and the development and execution of Operational Readiness Plans. The role ensures user, clinical, and operational requirements are translated into functional designs and construction documents. Specialists act as the primary liaison between management, clinicians, user groups, and project teams. They represent the owner on construction sites and maintain project and contract records to support high quality, client centred service delivery.

Experience
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience developing and leading innovative projects.
Education
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Architectural Engineering
  • Project Management certificate
  • Bachelor of Architecture (BArch)
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Interior Design
Licenses
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
Other Education and Training
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Facilities Engineering Technology
  • Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
