Job summary

Celestica Inc. in Toronto is seeking a Material Pricing Specialist to lead pricing for select customers, prepare BOM-based cost analyses and drive competitive quotes.

You will collaborate with Strategic Sourcing, Engineering, and Finance, maintain pricing databases, and negotiate with suppliers while applying industry knowledge of energy and industrial markets.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of relevant experience in material pricing or cost modeling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of BOM, pricing practices, and supplier negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Understand Celestica and Customer requirements and lead projects to meet Celestica / Customer goals.

• Manage customer pricing proposals and maintain historical quotes database.

We are currently seeking a Material PricingSpecialist based out of our Toronto site.

Responsibilities:

• Understand Celestica and Customer requirements and lead projects to ensure to meet Celestica / Customer goals
• Collaborate and project manage Strategic Sourcing/Commodity Management, Purchasing, Material Costing Teams, Engineering teams, and Financial / Customer Focus Team
• Manages customer pricing proposals and maintains historical Database of quotes
• Supports precise price estimating using historical data, as well as ability to estimate pricing of components
• Coordinates and manages the material cost activity for select customers and/or sites
• Prepares material pricing independently for new business opportunities (bids) including generation of Bill of Material, cost analysis, negotiation with suppliers, collaboration with Commodity Management and presentation to team leaders and managers.
• Updates material prices database and analyzes Bill of Material for competitiveness.
• Ability to negotiate with suppliers on RFI tenders.
• Participates in kick-off meetings and interacts with global customer’s units as well as counterparts in other regions.
• Audits and analyzes quarterly cost variances. Consolidates, tabulates, analyzes and reports on various commitment and performance metricsSupport data management on opportunities where appropriate
• Working knowledge of the marketplace conditions for the Energy and Industrial space including industry pricing, technology and supply/demand trends.
• Strong mechanical and electrical component knowledge and ability to read engineering drawings and electrical specifications.
• Understanding of the Bill of Material (BOM) structure and hierarchy, and ability to analyze the BOM structure to the supporting engineering data.
• Knowledge of computer applications (Excel, MS Office) and the ability to learn and use multiple applications specific to this department including ERP (SAP) and office systems.
• Knowledge of pricing practices and procedures.
• Has good command in understanding of specific customer needs as it relates to the Industrial space.
• Strong communication, organization, negotiation and presentation skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines.
• Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
• Ability to consolidate, manipulate and analyze large quantities of data.Initiate continuous improvement activities and drive for streamline approach to completing repetitive activities
• Presentation of insights and solutions to opportunity stakeholdersLeadership in the sense of mentorship and teaching

Physical Demands:

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
• Travel may be required.

Experience:

• 4 to 6years relevant experience.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field (Business or Engineering), or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience
