Credit Valley Conservation seeks a Specialist, Geomorphology to manage erosion, investigate sediment transport processes, and support river and wetland restoration projects across the Credit River watershed.
This is an opportunity to work on a broad range of projects across CVC relating to geomorphic processes. Work will be undertaken from watershed scale assessments to detailed site characterization and monitoring. By leveraging a strong foundation in geomorphic principles and tools you will be at the cutting edge of erosion hazard management. By employing approaches such as natural channel design, floodplain reconnection, and bioengineering, you will help mitigate erosion and flood hazards, enhance climate resilience, and restore self-sustaining river systems. By supporting review of development applications, you will ensure compliance with erosion hazard policies.
The position involves desk-based studies and analysis, conceptual design, report writing and map production. Fieldwork will be required for a range of projects, including site characterization, hazard assessments and monitoring. The ideal candidate will have a very strong background in GIS and manipulation of digital datasets.
