A global mining company in Saskatoon is seeking a specialist to set up data requirements across multiple teams. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to define data needs, support data quality issues, and ensure effective reporting to enhance decision-making. Ideal candidates should possess a degree in data management or business analytics and be proficient in data tools such as SQL and Power BI. This position offers a hybrid working environment with relocation support.

The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometres east of Saskatoon. BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximise sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long‑term roles. Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for mid‑2027. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. Downtown, Saskatoon office. 40 hours per week. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP. BHP offers relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning, if required. This role supports the early‑stage set‑up of data requirements across multiple teams and systems. The focus is on organising and preparing data inputs from various sources and translating operational metrics into data requirements to enable accurate and efficient decision‑making. The specialist will work closely with stakeholders in Integrated Operations, Operations, IT and other support teams to define what data is needed and how it should be structured. This is a foundational role focused on enabling future data quality and integration, which will transition into supporting more complex problem solving and system maintenance in the future.
