The location in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, is seeking talent to fill the position of Specialist, Commercial Logistics. This job is full-time permanent.

Overview:

Reporting to the Commercial Logistics Supervisor, you will play a strategic role in negotiating transportation agreements and managing supplier relationships to ensure competitive, service-oriented solutions. Your work will directly impact cost efficiency, operational performance, and customer satisfaction.

  • Negotiate short-, medium-, and long-term transportation agreements to secure the most competitive and service-focused outcomes.
  • Manage supplier relationships and resolve operational issues promptly.
  • Oversee existing contracts to ensure optimal conditions based on market trends and the company’s current and future footprint.
  • Continuously monitor and analyse market conditions to identify cost-saving opportunities and diversify the supplier base.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key logistics providers to maximize value for the company.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Planning teams to align logistics decisions with customer needs and strategic priorities.
  • Maintain transportation rate databases, manage claims, and reconcile payment discrepancies.
  • Prepare spending approvals and contract justification documents for suppliers.

Your profile :

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics operation management or production management.
  • Experience in negotiating with railways and marine companies, an asset.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience working for a large public company in the manufacturing or distribution sector.
  • Has several contacts within the transportation industry.

Your Skills:

  • Strong technical and contract negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to make sound decisions based on experience and judgement.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with others.
