The Bid Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Business Unit and other Division bids, manage product pricing tables, support pricing development, bid processing, managing bid admin tasks (renewal and bid tracking etc.), as well as manage registration tracking.

What you’ll do
  • Understands financial aspects of proposal response including Cost Benefits Analysis (CBA), Return on Investment (ROI) scenarios, and associated pricing structures.
  • Reads, interprets, and evaluates government contracts and subcontracts and bid requirements, especially as applies to pricing.
  • Coordinates required pricing data inputs with operations, engineering, and customer service to develop accurate models.
  • Coordinates with Bid team and support the finalization of bid and proposal pricing submissions.
  • Maintains pricing catalogs and collects and validates relevant data to ensure accurate estimating tools.
  • Manages update processes.
  • Supports development of proposal outlines, cross reference of compliance matrices, also edits written material, writes new material, proofreads, performs quality check of proposals, evaluation notices, and final proposal revisions under tight deadline constraints.
  • Analyze historical performance, industry benchmarks, and customer data to inform pricing decisions.
  • Plays an active role in discussions and negotiations regarding potential proposal and business development opportunities.
  • Supports business process management and tracking of existing and expiring agreements and other metrics/actions.
  • Carries out special projects as assigned.
What skills you will use

Basic Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma in business administration, communications, marketing, engineering or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in financial analysis
  • Proficiency in all MS Office Products with exceptional proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact, negotiate, and resolve conflicts with peers, functional area leaders and management.
  • Strong project management, planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of company processes, instructions and export compliance is preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial and/ or government contracting and proposals is preferred.
Background Information

The typical minimum level of education to perform this job competently is equivalent to completion of a university (bachelor) program in a specialized field of study and work. The work requires a sound understanding of the underlying theoretical principles and concepts associated with the subject area and an understanding of the relation of these to the responsibilities of the job. This specialized training is often recognized by a degree and/or professional designation.

Directly/indirectly related work experience representing continuous learning and required for someone to perform this job competently is three to six years.
