What You Will Do

Strategically lead, develop, integrate and optimize all outage and / or curtailment activities while ensuring safe, reliable, efficient, profitable and responsible operations across the Westcoast BC Pipeline system.

Support the delivery of Westcoast’s Asset System Strategy while balancing commercial, operational, and organizational objectives.

Outage Coordination and Planning - lead and maintain monthly and annual outage planning processes ensuring stakeholders are actively engaged and opportunities and synergies are realized by :

Delivering comprehensive and timely annual and monthly outage plans.

Managing relationships with commercial, field operations, gas control, projects, and external customers.

Communicate threats to plan to key stakeholders working to drive resolution ensuring safety is priority and minimizing any impacts to the business.

Customer & external communication - actively manage operation’s customer relationships to ensure alignment of their expectations with Westcoast’s throughput capabilities, by :

Educating and informing on relevant outages, business impacts and opportunities, working to minimize business impact and production interruptions.

Facilitating meetings with internal stakeholders encouraging collaboration and pursuit of operational synergies.

Identifying when contract obligations cannot be met, understanding implications and collaborating with commercial to develop an appropriate solution.

Provide presentations on outage plan to all internal and external stakeholders and various levels of leadership. Stakeholders include Operations, Account Managers, Tolls and Tariff Task Force, and Vice President.

Business Systems, Processes & Opportunities

Develop and maintain outage management systems, applications, reports, and governance documentation including processes, plans, and guides.

Lead strategic business and operational improvement opportunities by providing analysis and recommendations for achieving improved cost performance, operational performance, and revenue enhancements.

Who You Are

Related university degree and ten‑plus years’experience OR ten‑plus years of previous field operations experience, OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience

Demonstrated leadership competency with a strong safety culture

Excellent interpersonal skills and proven relationship building abilities

Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills.

Superior communication skills – written, verbal and presentation.

Strong business acumen, recognized change agent, highly motivated

Experience working in Natural Gas Industry and software such as Athena or Microsoft Project is highly desirable

Working Conditions
  • Candidates located outside Calgary should expect to travel to Calgary monthly to collaborate with critical stakeholders such as Commercial, Projects, Business Development, Gas Control, and Capacity Modeling
  • This role is office-based but may require travel to field locations across British Columbia or Enbridge offices across North America to ensure support is delivered successfully.
