Location: 7120 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, ON
Hours of work: 35 per week
Reporting to the Manager of Research Policy and Planning in Immunization Services, the Specialist position works collaboratively with the manager and stakeholders to lead and support the development and coordination of plans, projects, and strategic initiatives across the Immunization Services Division.
Who we are
The Immunization Services Division is a singular self‑sufficient and integrated vaccination program within Public Health that works collaboratively with internal and external partners to improve protection in Peel against vaccine‑preventable diseases.
Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives that are large / complex in nature.
- Act in a project advisory / manager role on small / routine initiatives led or supported by other members of the Immunization Services team.
- Provide expert guidance and advice to teams at all levels in the Immunization Services Division on strategic business and operational planning.
- Facilitate strategic business and operational planning initiatives and discussions.
- Build capacity and competency throughout Immunization Services and Public Health to support integrated plans, make decisions and drive change.
- Support the collection, analysis and reporting of relevant data and trends to inform strategic business and operational planning.
- Collaborate with other Specialists, Analysts and Advisors in Immunization Services and across Public Health to align methodologies and initiatives and to provide a consistent approach to broader performance management.
- Ensure all phases of project delivery are performed within standards, timeframes, scope and budget requirements and that project risk is managed.
- Stay current on best practices and relevant trends and priorities across the Public and Healthcare sectors in Ontario.
- Work closely with stakeholders to align strategic goals / outcomes and progress (performance) reporting.
- Maintain ongoing focus on achieving broader health services outcomes while meeting internal / external customer needs.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration or equivalent experience.
- 5 years experience with project management, change management, analysis and interpretation, facilitation and collaboration.
- Expert knowledge of current thinking and practices related to strategic business and operational planning within the health and public sectors in Ontario.
- Ability to provide expert advice to support strategic and operational initiatives.

- Excellent facilitation skills with sound knowledge of various facilitation techniques.

Work Mode & Job Location
In this role you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in‑person connection. A minimum of two days per week on‑site is expected with additional in‑person presence as operational needs evolve. This arrangement allows for a blend of in‑person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.
