Qualicum School District (SD69) is seeking a Spare School Meals Worker to prepare and distribute breakfast, lunch and snacks for school-based students. You will help ensure respect, equity and dignity within regulatory requirements while supporting menu planning and local food sourcing where possible.
The role requires Grade 12, Food Safe Level 1 and 2 certification, and two years of related experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong organizational skills are essential.
Qualicum School District is centrally situated on east Vancouver Island and covers the area of Nanoose Bay to Bowser and spans from Errington across the Strait of Georgia to Lasqueti Island. We serve a student population of approximately 4700 students. Qualicum School District consists of eight elementary schools (Grades K-7), two secondary schools (Grade 8-12), an alternate school (PASS/Woodwinds) and a Distributed Learning program to support home-learning families called the Collaborative Education Alternative Program (CEAP). Spare Employees are paid 4% in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of statutory holidays, plus 6% in lieu of vacation.
The School Meals Worker play a vital role in students' lives by preparing and distributing breakfast, lunch and/or snacks program to school-based students as needed and ensuring respect, equity and dignity for all within legal and regulatory requirements.
