In this role, you will be part of the Residential Underwriting team. As Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting and issuing title insurance policies for real estate transactions in Quebec, specifically with notary clients as well as residential home owners. You will our clients about the benefits of residential title insurance, due diligence and the coverage offered by the residential title insurance.

Here’s How You’ll Contribute
  • Receive and process title insurance requests for residential real estate transactions
  • Analyze opinions on title (problems with deed/title), certificates of location and any other documents necessary for the underwriting of policies
  • Assist the department in implementing and executing the underwriting rules and procedures
  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients and provide information on underwriting guidelines, endorsements, hedges, costs, etc.
  • Participate in developing solutions to ensure complete customer satisfaction
  • Issue insurance according to the requirements and standards, indicating appropriate exceptions, endorsements and insurance coverage, accurately and timely
  • Contribute to the improvement of procedures by proposing different solutions, where possible
  • Participate and support teamwork by helping other departments
  • Any other related duties pertaining to the performance of your duties
Here’s What You’ll Bring
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in real‑estate law, processing residential transactions or studies as paralegal (Diploma of College Studies in Legal Techniques)
  • Damage insurance agent certification is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills; bilingual oral and written (French and English)

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple files in parallel and meet deadlines
