A leading culinary firm is seeking a Sous Chef for a location in Thompson-Nicola Regional District, Kamloops. The role involves overseeing kitchen operations, managing food safety protocols, and training kitchen staff. Candidates must have a Red Seal Certificate and extensive experience within the industry. This position offers a beneficial work-life balance with a rotational schedule.
WHATS THE JOB
Based in a world-class Horizon North camp facility, the regular shift for this position is 20 days on and 10 days off, with 11-12-hour workdays. Transportation is provided to the site from a designated pickup point as assigned.
The Sous Chef is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the kitchen; ordering food ingredients, planning menus, and other responsibilities such as assisting with the preparation, serving, and control of cooked and uncooked food, training staff, and ensuring that staff follows prescribed Horizon North Food Safety protocols.
This position is safety sensitive and requires drug and alcohol testing and a fitness assessment as a condition of employment.
