Job description

Marshall Land Systems is currently seeking a Sourcing Specialist to join our team in Moncton, NB. Reporting to the Manager, Purchasing Shared Services, this role plays a key role in identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers to ensure the company gets the best quality materials, goods, and services at the best possible cost and within required timelines. The Sourcing Specialist collaborates closely with cross‑functional teams, including business development to ensure sourcing strategies align with competitive and compliant offerings.

Responsibilities
  • Execute on sourcing strategies that align with Marshall’s goals for cost efficiency, quality, and business continuity.
  • Research and compare suppliers based on pricing, quality, availability, terms, and other relevant factors to secure the best procurement options for materials, supplies, services, and equipment.
  • Identify, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and issue RFQ/RFPs.
  • Analyze spend data by category and identify opportunities for consolidation, process improvements and cost efficiency.
  • Support risk management initiatives by identifying potential supply chain risks and building contingency plans.
  • Provide market insights, risk assessments, and cost analysis to support decision making.
  • Collaborate with business development to support sourcing inputs for new bids.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, quality requirements and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Prepare cost estimates, supplier quotations and summaries for inclusion in bid packages.
  • Partner with internal teams including Operations, Engineering, Finance and Legal to ensure strategies align with organizational needs.
  • Maintain sourcing documentation and reporting to build a repository of approximate costs by commodity.
  • Prepare reports and updates for leadership on sourcing performance and cost savings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Business (Supply Chain) or other technical discipline.
  • Procurement expertise (5+ years) in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of ERP and MRP systems, P2P and procurement processes.
  • Understanding of contract law and vendor risk management.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading, bill of materials (BOMs), and engineering change control.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and supply chain optimization methods.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and security clearance requirements.
  • Good numeracy skills / data management skills.
  • Excel skills.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management abilities.
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to present data clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work under pressure with competing demands.

Must be eligible to meet the requirements of export control regulations, including the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Canadian government security requirements.
