Position Title: Echo Vascular Technologist

Location: Prescott, Prescott Valley, Dewey, Chino Valley, and Cottonwood, Arizona

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Mon - Fri (0800-1700)

Work Environment: Outpatient Primary Care Clinical Settings

Travel Requirement: Yes – Travel between designated clinic locations

Compensation: $40 – $50 per hour

Job Summary:

The Echo Vascular Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures to obtain images and data for the evaluation and treatment of patients with cardiovascular and vascular conditions. This role combines technical proficiency with patient care skills to ensure accurate, high-quality diagnostic studies. The Echo Vascular Technologist collaborates with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Ultrasound Imaging: Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations of the heart (echocardiography) and blood vessels (vascular ultrasound) to evaluate cardiac/vascular conditions.
  • Patient Care: Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process, and address their concerns. Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the examination.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring its proper functioning and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret ultrasound images, identifying and documenting any abnormalities or areas of concern.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain a high standard of image quality and accuracy, following established protocols and quality control measures.
  • Patient Records: Accurately document patient information, procedures performed, and findings in electronic medical records (EMR) or paper records as required.
  • Continuing Education: Stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology and relevant medical guidelines through ongoing education and training.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on the purpose of the ultrasound procedure, answer questions, and provide relevant information.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and infection control procedures to ensure the safety of patients and colleagues.
  • Travel Flexibility: Must be open to traveling between clinic locations.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of practical experience as a Sonographer.
  • 10 months of experience in a clinical setting as a Cardiac and/or Vascular Ultrasound Technologist required.
  • Open to recent graduates who meet the other qualifications.
  • Proficient in conducting Echocardiography (ECHO) and Vascular examinations required.
  • Proficient in interpreting and documenting technical findings from examinations.
  • Masterful time management skills to ensure efficient workflow.
  • State licensure or certification as required by regulations.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathology related to cardiac and vascular systems.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting ultrasound equipment.
  • Excellent communication, strong attention to detail, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel between clinics in Yavapai County.
