Overview

We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Sommelier to elevate our wine and beverage experience. You’ll curate selections, manage wine programs, host tastings, and provide exceptional service in a dynamic and intimate dining environment.


Responsibilities


  • Welcome guests warmly and understand their preferences to provide wine recommendations.

  • Curate and update the wine list featuring key regions (France, Italy, Japan, etc.).

  • Develop a profitable wine strategy aligned with restaurant concept and clientele.

  • Foster strong relationships with wine suppliers and source exclusive selections.

  • Collaborate with the culinary team on wine pairings for seasonal menus.

  • Provide professional wine presentation, explaining aromas, styles, and vintages.

  • Host wine dinners, tastings, and private events to drive engagement.

  • Train service staff on wine knowledge to enhance overall guest experience.

  • Set wine sales targets and review performance with the manager.

  • Oversee proper wine storage and manage inventory to reduce waste.

  • Handle guest feedback, inquiries, and complaints graciously.

  • Support the service team in guest interactions and F&B operations when needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications


  • Minimum 3–5 years of sommelier or wine service experience.

  • Formal wine certification (WSET, CMS, or equivalent) preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of global wines, including sake and Japanese wine.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Passion for hospitality and guest interaction.

  • Team player with a flexible, hands-on attitude.

  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin or Japanese is an advantage to liaise with Mandarin or Japanese speaking guests.
