Job summary

Zafin is seeking a Solution Architect or Senior Solution Architect to translate complex banking, product, pricing, billing, workflow, integration, data, and operational requirements into scalable Zafin solution designs for financial institutions.

You will bridge client business and technology teams to ensure solutions are architecturally sound, secure, auditable, and aligned with client outcomes and Zafin product direction.

Responsibilities

What is the opportunity?

As a Solution Architect or Senior Solution Architect, you will be responsible for translating complex banking, product, pricing, billing, workflow, integration, data, and operational requirements into scalable Zafin solution designs for financial institutions.

You will bridge client business and technology teams, product management, engineering, implementation, QA, DevOps, security, cloud, and program leadership to ensure solutions are architecturally sound, implementable, secure, auditable, maintainable, and aligned with client outcomes and Zain product direction.

What will you do?

• Own end-to-end solution architecture for client implementations and strategic programs, translating business and technical requirements into scalable solution designs, integration flows, data flows, configuration approaches, and implementation plans.
• Lead client discovery, solution workshops, architecture reviews, and requirements validation, including fit-gap analysis and documentation of assumptions, dependencies, constraints, decisions, and risks.
• Define integration and data architecture across platform and client systems, covering APIs, batch and file interfaces, event-driven integrations, data mappings, validation, reconciliation, error handling, security, and operational monitoring.
• Define and validate non-functional requirements covering performance, scalability, availability, reliability, security, privacy, auditability, maintainability, and operational resilience.
• Provide technical direction throughout delivery, including design reviews, data migration, testing, deployment, release and cutover planning, production readiness, defect resolution, and operational handover.
• Act as a senior technical advisor to clients and internal stakeholders, clearly communicating architecture options, trade-offs, risks, and recommendations while resolving cross-workstream dependencies and design issues.
• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Delivery teams to address product gaps, influence roadmap priorities, establish reusable architecture patterns, and mentor architects and technical delivery teams.

What do I need to succeed:

Must have:

• 10+ years of experience as Solution Architect, Technical software engineering, technical consulting, enterprise application implementation, or related delivery roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience, with significant experience in solution architecture, technical consulting, enterprise delivery, or financial technology implementation.
• Strong experience designing configurable enterprise or SaaS solutions for client implementation environments, including fit-gap analysis, solution design, implementation planning, governance, and delivery enablement.
• Deep understanding of banking product, pricing, rates and fees, billing, offers, deal management, relationship pricing, eligibility, workflows, auditability, operational processes, and downstream financial impacts.
• Ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into clear architecture designs, implementation direction, data flows, integration flows, sequence flows, Jira-ready work packages, and decision records.
• Strong technical foundation across Java, Spring Boot, Python, microservices, event-driven architecture, REST APIs, API design, PostgreSQL, SQL, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and at least one cloud environment.
• Experience defining integration and data architecture using APIs, batch interfaces, file exchanges, messaging or streaming platforms such as Kafka, Redpanda, or RabbitMQ, data contracts, mappings, reconciliation, error handling, and operational monitoring.
• Strong understanding of security and operational architecture, including authentication, authorization, encryption and decryption for files, data in motion, and data at rest, OWASP Top 10 risks, access controls, privacy, observability, monitoring, alerting, logging, and production support.
• Experience defining non-functional requirements and architecture expectations for performance, scalability, availability, reliability, maintainability, supportability, batch windows, API latency, resilience, and performance testing.
• Strong client-facing communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, documentation, prioritization, decision-making, and risk management skills, with the ability to explain complex architecture topics in business-friendly language.
• Demonstrated ability to lead enterprise architecture across complex or strategic programs, guide other architects, resolve cross-workstream design conflicts, advise senior stakeholders, and align client needs with product strategy.

Nice to have:

• Experience implementing enterprise SaaS platforms for large financial institutions or complex banking transformation programs.
• Experience with NoSQL databases, caching technologies, OAuth, Argo CD, deployment automation, DevOps practices, and advanced operational support models.
• Experience with Apache NiFi or other ETL tools, Schema Registry, Temporal or other workflow engines, Apache Flink, automation testing, reconciliation frameworks, and data quality tooling.
• Experience creating enterprise architecture blueprints, reference architectures, architecture guardrails, architecture review checklists, design governance models, and reusable implementation accelerators.
• Experience leading executive-level architecture discussions, transformation advisory sessions, architecture steering forums, production readiness reviews, go-live assessments, or major incident design reviews.

Additional Job Details

• Expected Salary Range: $ 140,000 to $200,000; we hire into multiple career levels for this role based on a candidate's experience, skills and demonstrated capabilities.
