The role

Global Platforms Architecture is looking for an Architect to lead the design and strategy for product fulfilment and client servicing under Global Payments. You will be working closely with Engineering teams to drive out modernization and direction of the local and international aspects of Payments, with the intention to grow within the Payments Engineering portfolio.

Is this role right for you?

  • Work closely with Delivery and Engineering teams, Product Owners and technical platform teams to architect, design and develop next generation payments processing platforms and enable incremental delivery of new features to the platforms.
  • Drive out end-to-end software architecture, design and develop distributed hybrid cloud based transaction processing systems.
  • Perform code review, provide guidance and mentorship to engineers in the team, ensuring best practices are followed and software artifacts are built in a sustainable manner
  • Have the ability to architect, design and deliver software that can scale elastically across multiple data centers and cloud vendors while staying resilient.
  • Embrace the Architect role alongside other domain architects, helping teams align with our reference architecture.
  • Performing research and development to evaluate emerging technologies and their potential to redesign payments and core banking platforms.
  • Aligning solutions to strategic technical and capability roadmaps and identifying new shared capabilities and business opportunities.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • 10+ years of experience in IT, with an emphasis on enterprise integration patterns, including API / Microservice design, Asynchronous messaging systems (Kafka, MQ), relational databases, in-memory databases, resilient architecture.
  • Experience with structured Architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premise to-cloud migration deployments and roadmaps.
  • Experience building, architecting, designing, and implementing highly distributed global based systems. Experience in network infrastructure, security, data, or application development.
  • Performance engineering techniques
  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, including their services, tools, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in languages like Java, Python, C#, Ruby, and JavaScript, enabling the creation and management of cloud-based solutions.
  • Understanding of networking concepts like DNS, TCP/IP, VPN, and HTTP, crucial for building scalable and secure cloud solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security principles, including identity and access management, data encryption, and network security.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems like Linux and Windows, as cloud solutions often interact with different OS environments.
