Job summary

Brunel is seeking a Veterinarian (DVM) to join a small animal hospital in Fort McMurray, AB. The role emphasizes clinical work with surgical and dental procedures in a GP setting, with a team including RVTs and veterinary staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a DVM.
• NEB certification.
• ABVMA license.
• Comfortable with routine surgeries and basic dental procedures.
• Excellent communication and client education skills.
• French/English bilingualism is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent patient care while contributing positively to the team environment.
• Provide wellness exams, client education, dentistry, rehabilitation, in-house grooming, and a variety of surgical procedures.
• Perform in-house diagnostics and support emergency cases.
• Work as a sole veterinarian in the clinic, managing your own caseload independently.
• Perform soft tissue surgery including routine procedures such as spays, neuters, and mass removals.
• Conduct dental procedures, including scaling, polishing, and extractions.
• Manage and stabilize urgent and emergency cases as they arise.
• Contribute to treatment planning, medical decision-making, and continuity of care.
• Offer rehabilitation services and support general patient recovery plans.
