Job Description

Closely work with PO/BSA/POD team to gain an understanding of business requirements, design and create test plan, test cases, and participate in all aspects of testing.

Create test plan and walkthrough with POD Team and obtain all required approvals.

Attend pre‑PI and PI meetings to ensure QE activities are properly forecasted for the upcoming PI.

Provide support to the QE lead/QE manager with tasks and ad‑hoc requests as required.

Design effective test scenarios/test cases using an automated‑based approach and test design techniques.

Leverage existing automation frameworks, tools, and artifacts to ensure the testing process is continuous, comprehensive, and fully autonomous.

Create defects in JTMF and conduct triage.

Actively collaborate with the automation lead to support automation initiatives.

Work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.

Job Requirements

• 6 to 8 years of Mainframe testing experience (Mainframe Screen/Database IMS DB & DB2).
• Strong BFS domain knowledge with applications such as Investments (GIC/TFSA/RIO/RRSP/Term etc), Deposit accounts, Loans, Line of credits, Debit cards, Credit cards, ATM & POS.
• Hands‑on experience in API testing.
• Hands‑on experience creating test scripts with Java, Selenium, and Rest Assured.
• Expertise in creating and modifying automation frameworks and tools.
• Experience developing API automated test scripts integrated to CI/CD pipelines.
• Expertise applying BDD principles for value‑driven outcomes with multiple stakeholders.
• Hands‑on experience with Git (Bitbucket) version control.
• Hands‑on experience with Jira/JTMF and Confluence.
• Experience with test data management tools.
• Hands‑on experience in Java, SQL, Selenium, code review, and automation.
• Experience in requirements, architecture, and design specification reviews.
• Strong knowledge of functional, integration, and regression test phases.
• Experience working with scrum teams to identify testing needs and opportunities.
• SAFe/Scrum experience; certification considered a plus.
• Familiarity with batch testing and host file creation.
• Education: Undergraduate degree, postgraduate degree, or technical certificate with strong academic background.
• Soft skills: Attention to detail, analytical and critical thinking, problem‑solving, communication, ethics, teamwork, and leadership.
