Roche Sequencing is changing science and lives by developing powerful bioinformatics algorithms, data analysis tools, and software/systems infrastructures that enable researchers and clinicians to make better health decisions faster. As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, you will design and develop automated verification tests, create test frameworks and infrastructure, plan test strategies, and document design history for Roche Sequencing products. You will develop cutting‑edge, distributed, scale‑out Next‑Generation Sequencing data analysis software solutions to ensure the highest possible software quality for gene sequencing research and disease diagnostics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Implement and maintain an end‑to‑end automation test framework for running UI integration tests and quality dashboards using Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Cypress, Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, TestNG, Junit.
• Design and develop requirements‑based test cases.
• Implement automated API testing using REST Assured.
• Improve unit test coverage, frameworks, and productivity tools alongside the development team.
• Participate in requirements, architecture, and design specification reviews.
• Perform peer code reviews.
• Use defect management tools such as JIRA.
• Use GIT for source code management.
• Develop and maintain GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop load and performance tests using JMeter and K6.
• Follow a scaled Agile software development process.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent field.
• 5+ years of experience in software development in test / software test engineering.
• Experience in Software Development in Test and proficiency in Behavioral Driven Development.
• Proficiency in JavaScript & Java.
• Nice to have: TypeScript, Cypress, REST Assured, Spring.
• Experience in API and UI test automation.
• Experience with Agile SW development tools.
• Basic knowledge of microservice architecture, AWS services, Docker, CI/CD, Linux & Shell scripting.
• Nice to have: Experience in infrastructure and framework testing, testing bioinformatics software.
