Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond. Together, we advance your career.

THE ROLE

You will drive the integration of advanced DevOps practices with large‑scale automated testing infrastructure to accelerate the delivery and validation of AMD’s software and driver technologies.

In this role, you will design, implement and maintain continuous integration (CI) and test automation systems that ensure the reliability, performance and scalability of AMD software products across diverse hardware and operating system configurations. You will own enabling smooth transitions between development and protected branches while developing automation frameworks that ensure consistent, high‑quality validation. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of DevOps, infrastructure automation and test engineering, collaborating across firmware, software and QA teams to deliver best‑in‑class products to customers.

THE PERSON

You are a builder and an optimizer—equally passionate about automation efficiency and system reliability. You thrive in complex technical ecosystems and enjoy improving how teams build, test and deliver software. You are self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and capable of owning infrastructure end‑to‑end—from code integration to automated validation.

Your curiosity drives innovation: you continuously seek new ways to use tools, frameworks, and especially AI/ML to make validation smarter and faster. You collaborate effectively across teams, communicate clearly and take pride in delivering solutions that empower engineering productivity at scale.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins and OpenTest to automate build, test and deployment workflows across multi‑site environments.
  • Deploy and manage containerized and bare‑metal test environments using Packer, Ansible and MaaS.
  • Architect and extend automated test frameworks for driver and system validation across Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Create and optimize Python‑based test scripts to validate features, detect regressions and improve overall software quality.
  • Integrate automated test execution into continuous delivery pipelines to accelerate validation feedback.
  • Design and develop AI agents that automate repetitive validation, triage and infrastructure tasks to enhance engineering productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Apply AI/ML models to identify patterns in test data, optimize regression selection and improve validation efficiency.
  • Collaborate with QA, software development and release management teams to define and enforce integration and testing policies.
  • Use Jira and other project tracking tools to plan work, report progress and drive issues to closure.
  • Continuously monitor, analyze and improve the reliability and performance of automated testing and build systems.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Understanding of AI/ML concepts for test selection, predictive analytics and validation methodologies is a must.
  • Proven experience designing and integrating AI agents to automate validation workflows, issue triage or infrastructure tasks.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools and workflows—GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Ansible, YAML.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, container orchestration and infrastructure‑as‑code principles.
  • Knowledge of Git‑based workflows, protected branch strategies and mainline integration practices.
  • Strong experience with Python scripting for automation and validation frameworks.
  • Hands‑on experience with test automation, build systems and driver validation processes.
  • Experience with code coverage tools and implementing coverage metrics to assess test completeness and identify gaps in validation.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools.
  • Strong analytical, debugging and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on collaboration across cross‑functional teams.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent degree.
