Job description

This position has a term length of one year plus one day from the date of hire.

Location - This role is in-person. Work primarily takes place at North Campus and ACQBuilt Office, Edmonton.

This position designs, develops, deploys, and supports enterprise software systems that support construction and business operations. Working closely with operational teams, the role develops and maintains applications, databases, and system integrations to improve efficiency, automate processes, modernize legacy systems, and provide ongoing technical support. The position requires strong expertise in software development, databases, system integration, and enterprise applications.

Responsibilities
  • Workplace Safety: Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace; follow safety requirements, complete training, identify and address hazards, and report incidents.
  • Software Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications, ERP systems, APIs, databases, and business workflows.
  • System Modernization & Integration: Improve existing systems, automate business processes, and integrate internal and external applications.
  • Data & Database Management: Support data migration, database optimization, reporting, and data integrity.
  • Development, Operations. & Technical Support: Manage software environments, deployments, CI/CD processes, system performance, and production issues.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance, establish development standards, document systems, and collaborate with stakeholders.
Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills are required.

This position is subject to all applicable terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the Governors of the University of Alberta and the Non-Academic Staff Association (NASA).
