Software Engineer Quality Assurance, HYBRID WORK

LOCATION : HYBRID (MUST BE ABLE TO WORK IN THE WATERLOO AREA)

Required Qualifications
- Must have extensive experience with Software Quality (SQA / SQC)
- Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related degree
- Must have 7+ years of software engineering experience in the automotive (Vehicle)industry, with a strong focus on quality, warranty analysis, or verification & validation
- Must have proven expertise in software defect detection and prevention methodologies.
- Must have experience in software design reviews to ensure compliance with architectural and quality standards.
- Must have a strong background in Failure Mode Analysis (FMA) for software systems.
- Must have experience in ISO 26262 Functional Safety implementation and assessments.
- Must have strong embedded software development expertise, with experience in C / C++, AUTOSAR, or similar technologies.
- Must have excellent communication, coaching, and training skills to drive cultural and technical improvements.
Must have experience working with infotainment, connected gateways, or telematics is highly desired.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ASPICE and software process assessments.
- Experience in DevOps, continuous integration, and automated software testing. Understanding of opensource software compliance and cybersecurity best practices.
Scope of Work
The scope of work of the Contract includes, but is not limited to :
The Software Engineer Quality Assurance professional will be expected to execute the following tasks during this contract, but not limited too :
- Lead early defect detection and prevention strategies across software development.
- Define methods and strategies for process improvement to enhance software quality and reliability.
- Conduct software design reviews to ensure compliance with architectural and quality standards.
- Support Failure Mode Analysis (FMA) efforts to proactively identify and mitigate software risks.
- Participate in engineering joint reviews and quality reviews to ensure best practices in software development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve software verification and validation processes.
- Analyze warranty, field, and test data to identify systemic software quality issues and drive corrective actions.
- Partner with suppliers and internal teams to enhance software quality, focusing on infotainment, connected gateways, and telematics.
- Coach and train engineering teams on software quality best practices, including ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and ASPICE compliance.
- Contribute to process development and improvement within the software quality organization.
Effectively communicate complex software issues to both engineering teams and executive leadership.
