Aerostrat is a fast-growing B2B SaaS company building a complete maintenance planning solution for the aviation industry. Our core product, Aerros, enables our customers to plan all the maintenance on hundreds of aircraft in a matter of minutes. Our solution helps customers understand the cost and efficiency of their maintenance operations while giving them the confidence to make data‑backed business decisions. Over the past 10 years, Aerostrat has achieved a customer base that includes some of the world’s most well‑known airlines and aircraft operators. Aerostrat’s success to date has been driven by a lean team focused on transforming complex asks into an easy‑to‑use product.

About this role

As a QA focused Software Engineer II at Aerostrat, you’ll play a critical part in helping us build high quality experiences for our customers. You will build test automation and any related infrastructure needed to better understand the state of our product, validate user flows, and improve the quality and user experience of our product. Our QA software engineers ensure that customers continue to love our product through improvements in reliability, performance, security and more.

Having at least three (3) years of experience with test automation at all levels (unit/integration/API/E2E) and test infrastructure is mandatory. Extensive direct experience with the Playwright framework is critical. At least two (2) years of direct experience writing high‑quality production‑level code in Python is required. Additionally, experience with other types of testing such as performance, security, accessibility and more will also be important.

As a member of our small but growing engineering team, you’ll need to be a self‑motivated, high‑impact and driven individual that goes out of your way to learn about and produce the best solutions for our customers. Because our team is so lean, you will have a real opportunity to contribute to the direction of the product and see your ideas make it into production on a regular basis.

In this role, you will
  • Learn everything there is to know about aviation maintenance planning through our onboarding process (so don’t worry if you do not have any experience in this industry!)
  • Build critical API/E2E test automation to ensure our products are in the best state possible for our customers
  • Build other test and quality infrastructure to improve quality of our product (perf, security, mobile, etc.)
  • Coordinate bug bashes and manually test our product where automation gaps exist
  • Play a crucial role in the development of new features through design feedback, proposing acceptance criteria, and testing new features as they are developed
  • Deliver reliable, high‑quality, well‑tested code with speed and care
  • Utilize our monitoring/APM tools to analyze metrics, investigate issues and propose changes to improve our performance and user experience
  • Investigate complex customer issues to identify bugs, verify reproduction steps and propose fixes
This role is great for you if
  • You have at least three (3) years of direct experience developing API/E2E test automation using Playwright
  • You have strong software engineering fundamentals and have at least two (2) years of experience writing high‑quality production‑level code in Python. C# and/or JavaScript is a bonus
  • You have experience with building QA/testing infrastructure (ex. setting test environments, automating performance/security testing tools, developing QA‑related telemetry and reports, etc.)
  • You love trying to break products and have experience testing complex web applications (bonus points for experience testing WebGL)
  • You are not afraid to perform manual testing to cover gaps in test automation
  • You love digging deep into complex problems and solving real customer issues
  • You have a positive attitude and communication style because we’ve learned that excellent written communication and attitude go a long way for a remote team
Compensation
  • Title: Software Engineer - QA II (CAN)
  • Salary: Dependent Upon Experience and Location
  • Software Engineer QA - II Range: $100k - $130k CAD
  • Job Type: Full‑time; Remote
  • Schedule: TBD
Benefits

  • Working remotely with flexible hours
  • Company paid health, vision and dental insurance
  • 15 days of PTO, 10 sick days, and 10 holidays per year
