Techedin is hiring a Software Engineer - Cloud & DevOps for a 100% remote role in Canada. The role involves supporting cloud-based and desktop applications, enhancing CI/CD pipelines, and documenting system architecture for a distributed engineering team.

You will work across software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps, leveraging AWS or GCP, DynamoDB, MongoDB, and modern deployment practices. Strong ownership and communication are essential.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices using AWS or GCP; proficiency with at least one platform.
• Full-stack software experience, services and cloud deployment.
• Experience with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or Buildkite).
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Terraform, and Linux.
• Proficiency in Git and GitHub.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain secure, reliable, and compliant software applications across cloud and desktop environments.
• Support customer success teams in troubleshooting and applying patches/fixes.
• Understand and document end-to-end architecture of cloud-based and desktop apps.
• Manage cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines following DevOps best practices.
• Perform regular patching, security updates, maintenance, and performance tuning.
• Support full-stack applications, services, and cloud deployments.
• Identify opportunities to improve deployment processes and reliability.
• Take ownership of multiple software products across cloud and desktop environments.
• Collaborate with distributed teams across time zones and communicate technical information clearly.

Role Summary

We are hiring for a Software Engineer - Cloud & DevOps to support and maintain cloud-based and desktop software applications. You will work across software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps, helping maintain reliable applications, improve CI/CD pipelines, document system architecture, and support ongoing software maintenance for a distributed engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with Infrastructure and Engineering teams to maintain secure, reliable, and compliant software applications.
• Support customer success teams in troubleshooting application issues and implementing software fixes and patches.
• Understand, reverse engineer, and document the end-to-end architecture of cloud-based and desktop applications.
• Manage cloud infrastructure and maintain CI/CD pipelines using DevOps best practices.
• Perform regular software patching, security updates, maintenance, and performance tuning.
• Support full-stack software applications, services, and cloud deployments.
• Identify opportunities to improve deployment processes, application reliability, and software maintenance workflows.
• Take ownership of supporting and maintaining multiple software products across cloud and desktop environments.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams across different time zones and communicate technical information effectively.

Must-Have Skills

• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar field.
• Strong experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps best practices using AWS or GCP, with proficiency in at least one platform.
• Experience with full-stack software, services, and cloud deployment.
• Proficiency in NoSQL databases, specifically DynamoDB and MongoDB.
• Experience with either Jenkins or Buildkite for CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Terraform, and Linux.
• Proficiency in Git and knowledge of GitHub.
• Strong understanding of software maintenance and support for desktop and cloud-based applications.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently, take initiative, and demonstrate ownership of software support, maintenance, and DevOps activities.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field.
• Experience working with both GCP and AWS.
• Proficiency in gRPC and Protocol Buffers (Protobuf).
• Basic experience with the Unity game engine.
• Experience with TestFlight.
• Knowledge of software installers and installation processes.
• Familiarity with Jenkins, Buildkite, and Bitbucket Pipelines.
• Experience with C# for desktop application development.
• Knowledge of Electron.
