Job summary

NetApp, Inc. in Vancouver is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and architect core storage systems, and drive development of cloud storage software. You will implement, test, and refine features while mentoring peers and collaborating across teams.

This role embraces agile development in a flexible hybrid work-from-home/office model, with opportunities to influence Architecture and contribute to scalable data infrastructure for AI data lakes.

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years hands-on development experience.
  • C++ required; additionally Go, Ruby, Python or Java.
  • OO design, network programming, HTTP, AWS S3 and file systems.
  • Cassandra/CQL/NoSQL or SQL databases.
  • Large-scale distributed systems, HPC.
  • Linux and containers.
  • Agile, TDD, and continuous integration.

Job Summary

NetApp is pioneering the development of StorageGRID object storage – AWS cloud compatible software powering the exponential growth in AI data lakes. As a Software Engineer - Senior, this is your chance to work alongside a group of talented developers, impart your vision, and rapidly launch the latest cloud storage software. Your incredible testing and automation skills will create opportunities to contribute clean code. Naturally, you are as comfortable solving our customer’s AI data lake challenges by writing new code as you are improving productivity by refactoring. You are opinionated while flexible and know when to adopt new technologies.

Education

The target salary range for this position is 150,450 - 194,700 CAD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies. Benefits may vary by country and region, and further details will be provided as part of the recruitment process.
