You will work directly with an Engineering Manager/Tech Lead, collaborating across product, customer success, and implementation teams to drive meaningful outcomes for customers and the business.

Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking a mid-level software engineer who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer value and driving meaningful business outcomes. This is a newly created role reporting directly to an Engineering Manager / Tech Lead within the engineering organization. Rather than being locked into a single feature area, the engineer will work broadly across platform and backend services, with a strong LLM-powered application component. Ownership areas are dynamic and evolve with the business, offering meaningful exposure across the product.

Responsibilities

• Identify and address system-level challenges that hinder customer value delivery and prolong time to value - by improving, overhauling, or designing new systems.
• Design, develop, and evaluate LLM-powered applications and capabilities, leveraging prompt engineering and emerging AI technologies to deliver meaningful customer value and improve product outcomes.
• Design, build, test, and maintain scalable backend services and integrations with third-party providers.
• Partner cross-functionally with product, customer success, and implementation teams to prioritize initiatives that drive customer retention, activation, and growth. This includes triaging and resolving customer-reported issues surfaced by the customer success team.
• Act as a force multiplier by fostering a culture of customer-centric thinking and engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent, as a full stack or backend engineer.
• Extensive experience architecting, designing, and developing scalable and reliable backend services for SaaS platforms.
• Experience working with and evaluating LLMs, including prompt engineering and LLM-based application development. Note: model training experience is not required - the emphasis is on practical, applied use of commercial LLM providers to reliably produce quality outcomes.
• Deep hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Solid understanding of both SQL and NoSQL database systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proven ability to thrive in collaborative, cross-functional team environments.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, with experience - or a strong desire - to work in fast-paced startup environments.
• Strong customer-centric, results-oriented, and data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
