Job summary

Autodesk is seeking a Software Engineer to design and implement scalable, customer-facing platform features. You will work with product managers, developers and operations to deliver reliable services across product lines.

The role emphasizes building APIs, front-end integrations, and cloud-based architectures with AWS, Docker and CI/CD pipelines. You will collaborate across teams to maintain high-quality code and support production systems.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of professional experience building APIs with Python or Node.js and customer-facing applications using React.
  • Experience designing and building APIs (REST, GraphQL).
  • Experience with relational databases and/or NoSQL (MySQL, DynamoDB).
  • Familiarity with micro-frontends and backend-for-frontend patterns.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REST, XHR.
  • Collaborative work with design teams to merge aesthetics with functionality.
  • Experience with testing (Jest, Storybook, Playwright, Cypress).
  • Experience with AWS Cloud services (S3, SNS, SQS, API Gateway) and Serverless.
  • Experience with CI/CD and modern development tools (Jenkins, Docker, EC2).
  • Experience with front-end observability (CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Splunk).
  • Strong communication in an agile/scrum environment.

Position Overview

Autodesk access group responsible for connecting customers to their products and data, the team is driving the transformation of Autodesk's business models, account & user management. We solve complex problems, build highly scalable and reliable, and make sure things work seamlessly for millions of users across our product lines. The team is looking for a Software Engineer. You will design and implement features to develop the platform. You will work with product managers, developers and operations to design, implement and maintain the platform and its roadmap.

Responsibilities
  • Design and build scalable and resilient customer-facing applications using React and Node.js
  • Build and maintain resilient micro-services and APIs on AWS Cloud
  • Work in a CI/CD Cloud environment, considering the implementation of functionality through several distributed components and services
  • Write high-quality code, adhering to coding, security and testing best practices to ensure that software is stable and reliable
  • Assist in the operation of our production systems (on-call support, deployments, troubleshooting)
  • Collaborate effectively inside and outside the team. You enjoy working closely with others, learning from colleagues and contributing to the team by sharing knowledge and following best practices and high technical standards
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of professional experience with building API's using Python or Node.js and customer-facing applications using React
  • Experience with designing and building APIs (REST, GraphQL)
  • Experience working with relational databases and/or NoSQL (MySQL, DynamoDB)
  • Familiarity with full-stack architectural patterns such as micro-frontends (MFE) and backend-for-frontend (BFF)
  • Experience with various client-side technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REST, XHR
  • Experience collaborating with design teams to merge aesthetics with functionality
  • Understanding of the value of testing to deliver high-quality code and hands-on experience writing unit, integration, and system tests (Jest, Storybook, Playwright, Cypress, Catchpoint)
  • Experience working in production with AWS Cloud services (e.g. S3, SNS, SQS, API Gateway) and Serverless infrastructure
  • Experience working with continuous integration/delivery, and modern development practices and tools (Jenkins, Docker, EC2)
  • Experience with building observability into front-end systems (e.g. CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Splunk)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate in an agile/scrum-team oriented environment

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For Canada based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $88,000 and $128,700. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
