Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC in Vancouver, BC, Canada seeks experienced Software Development Engineers to design and own large-scale distributed systems end-to-end. You will tackle real-world problems, build scalable solutions, and influence technology directions across the eCommerce services group.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in design/architecture and software development, with strong programming skills in at least one language, and a degree in CS or equivalent.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

We, the Ordering team, need strong software development engineers, able to dive deep into abstract problems and come up with innovative designs to help us continuously make our platform ready for our current and future challenges.

SDEs at Amazon work on real world problems on a global scale, own their systems end to end and influence the direction of our technology that impacts hundreds of millions customers around the world. At Amazon an SDE can expect to design flexible and scalable solutions, and work on some of the most complex challenges in large-scale computing by utilizing your skills in data structures, algorithms, and object oriented programming. Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
