Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) CloudWatch Logs teams seek a Software Development Engineer in Vancouver to build scalable, reliable logging and monitoring services for enterprise-scale workloads.

The role is a full-stack development position with a focus on back-end work, shaping features and performance in distributed systems across AWS services for customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• You will work on/lead projects that drive software of large-scale control and planes with Amazon proprietary technologies.
• You’ll shape the future of our logging services and deliver features to help customers use our product more effectively.

Software Development Engineer, AWS CloudWatch

AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

The CloudWatch Logs team builds and manages some of the largest logging systems in the world. CloudWatch Logs allows AWS users to ingest their application and AWS logs in a highly scalable, durable, and reliable service for enterprise scale; find and analyze the right log data to solve operational problems; generate metrics and alarms from their log events; or send log data to other downstream systems.

On the Logs team you’ll get to build critical monitoring services that impact every single AWS customer, both internally and externally – there’s not many team’s that can say that! This is a full-stack development position, leaning towards back-end work.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
