Amazon is recruiting a Software Development Engineer in Toronto to join the Amazon Kids team. You will help shape and deliver features across Tablet, Kindle, and Fire TV, spanning backend services and consumer experiences for families.
Bring 3+ years of software development and 2+ years in design/architecture. You will collaborate with leadership and product management on simple, scalable solutions.
Come join the Amazon Kids team in Toronto! Amazon Kids gives children the content that they love and devices built just for them. We also give parents the oversight and controls they need to feel safe. Our team builds the Amazon Kids Store and Subscription experiences — where kids discover and request the content they want, and parents stay in control by approving what their kids can access.
We're looking for a talented, experienced Software Development Engineer with a track record of building and shipping innovative software to help shape our team, influence the team culture, and help develop the team. Our goal is to create a revolutionary experience for parents and kids to enjoy on our Amazon family of devices.
You will work with the team to quickly and iteratively deliver high quality software features. Your team's work spans the backend services that power content discovery, ordering, and parental approvals, as well as the web/app experiences parents see — and you'll work across the full software stack as needed.
Base salary range: $114,800 – $191,800 CAD annually. Package may include sign-on payments and RSUs. Amazon offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life and AD&D), RRSP, DPSP, paid time off, and other health and well-being resources.
3+ years of professional software development experience; 2+ years of design or architecture experience including design patterns, reliability, and scaling; proficiency in at least one programming language; preferred: 3+ years of full SDLC experience; Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
